Can I use the GPS on a HTC G1 (Android) without a data plan?
I will not use the Internet phone, while on the go too so do not want to get a data plan. I wish I had the GPS function however. I understand that the phone will need to download the maps data the web, but can the maps that need to be stored on a microSD card? If not possible if someone writes an application for it?
hmm good question about saving the map. I doubt it … but if just keep checking Web sites people create programs every day for the phone since its open source. I doubt that someone isn't thinking of making a GPS preloaded that opens like Google Maps without data.
